Didn't mean to come off as a whining buyer, Perhaps "shady" may not be the best word to describe the practice, but consider:

The seller listed a card that they ARE auctioning. By creating the auction listing, the seller HAS entered into a contract (with eBay) to sell the card to the eventual highest bidder. If the auction receives even one bid, the seller is obligated to sell to the high bidder. If the seller, while the auction is live, sells the card on a third party site, has the seller not breached the contract with eBay? But then again, this is 2014 and I guess honoring contracts is not important..

Which clause is seller in breach of then if he puts the same card with no bids on, on sale on another site?

"Unclaimed" PayPal Status On Purchase That Won't Go Through?

Just bought this for my HHoF PC.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GUY-LA-FLEUR...p2047675.l2557

Got a good deal, but I can't pay for it for some reason. Instead of the payment going through it says "Payment Processing" and comes up on my PayPal status as "Unclaimed".

Does anyone have experience with this? The seller hasn't received a thing from me as far as correspondences go. Is there a reason why this is happening?

Are the funds available in your PayPal account already? Or will they be coming from your bank through PayPal?

Funds are in my PayPal, they withdraw it and then give me an option to cancel when the transactions sits there marked as unclaimed.

    I found this:

His email address may have been typed incorrectly making the payment unreceivable?

Interesting. Let us know what happens. I have never encountered this myself and I have been selling on eBay since 1999.

I have got this before (it was sending paypal to someone, not paying on eBay) and that's exactly what it was. There was a typo in the email address.

It's sitting as unclaimed, I would be, because you didn't send to the right email.

I would send him a message on eBay (though, you've probably already done that) and try and get it straightened out that way.

I understand that sellers want the most exposure possible to increase the chance of a sale. But why not list the auction and if the item does not sell, THEN list it for fixed price sale on other sites. Don't dangle a whale in front of my nose and then snatch it away because the auction isn't going the way you wanted. We hear complaints about buyers who don't pay, or try to back out of the deal. What about sellers who cancel auctions, or play the "item unavailable" game when the final auction price is too low.

I am not saying buyers should be favored, I am saying the playing field should be level. And its not always about getting your money back. Sometimes it's about missing out on a card because you placed your bid and expected the seller to fulfill his part of the deal.

Nobody called you whiny, but buyers do nothing but complain. I have been a buyer as much as a seller, & I have not had any trouble from sellers, only buyers.

Is anybody familiar with this global shipping program? I realize it's not something that is applied to the card categories. I had never heard of it before and this completely over looked it in a listing for a guitar pedal that I bought. I'm not too pleased that I'm now basically paying double the shipping cost. The purchase was $150 and shipping was $23 or something like that. Now I'm being charged import fees of $27. What the hell for?

    Here's what the deal is....

Sellers have to include tracking with their package, otherwise they lose a paypal claim virtually every single time. Sellers are also not interested in doing lots of work, they're taking the easy way to do it (not that I blame them for either of these things. If I were in the USA, I'd probably be doing the same thing too)

An American seller, using the Global Shipping Program, only has to mail the item to their local Pitney Bowes outlet (will cost them little) and then Pitney Bowes does the rest.

You're charged for shipping, and import fees. The import fees are like a brokerage fee. Pitney Bowes will cover any duties that are charged. That import fee is a percentage of the final value of the auction.

The whole thing though, it's a big scam. The Seller isn't getting an extra dime out of those import fees, it's all lining the pockets of eBay & Pitney Bowes.
