This is EXACTLY the most important issues here that a lot of people aren't seeing (on this site and others I've spoken with). It goes mush deeper than birth control, morning after pills, hobby lobby, obamacare, and so on.

'Ok, so say you have a valid point...I would ask you when it became the govt's job to decide what kind of healthcare a privately owned business has to offer? When does it become the govt's job to tell any privately owned business that they have to offer anything period?

I agree, the government shouldn't force rules created by religious views on us either.

But why can't a private business run on what the founders religious views are? If I open a Christian tee shirt company can I be forced to print tees for steve and bob's wedding?

I hope those here in this thread against the decision realize that Hobby Lobby has not taken any women's choice to do anything away from them, they just refuse to pay for it. So those arguing choice are wrong. If you want it, buy it.

I am not going to ever argue in favor of a woman murdering who own baby but it is very stupid of hobby lobby not to pay for contraception that would in turn reduce the demand for abortions which they are so wholeheartedly against.

No, it's not. They can be responsible adults and purchase it for themselves if they so desire, or use other options available to them. I heard it around 7-9.00 a month cost. BUY IT IF YOU WANT IT!

So what's the point of paying for insurance through the company if they (who are not doctors) can dictate what is medically right for you?

No insurance is the same. You can buy different things. Some things are covered, others are not. They are not dictating anything. They are selling or providing a package of whatever they want to offer. Once again, you are free to purchase said contraception on your own (as well as any other services, items that are not provided). How is this such a difficult concept to understand?

Funny the last statement of your thread in black and white says "people are free to make their own decision" Now is it only on the topic of abortion or all aspects? You bash those who chose Christianity or other religions, and you bash those who choose to bear arms. So which is it Alex do we have choice or only choice when it is a topic you agree on?

Ugh...we are free to decide whatever we want, and everyone is also free to have opinions.

What you aren't free of doing is imposing your beliefs on others and that's where my criticisms come in.

I bash religion and far right religious people because they don't want choice, they want to impose their beliefs on others.

And BTW, I also stand with any Christian, Muslim, whatever who really supports the right for all of us to choose what we want to do in our lives.

There is simply nothing worst in this reality than not being able to make a choice.

I actually completely agree as far as healthcare goes. I don't think the government should be able to tell companies that they have to provide or subsidize health insurance for employees. Yes this decision happens to be about a small piece of the healthcare law, but it goes way deeper than health care as I've been saying. Anyone that can't see that is not thinking outside the box and is getting hung up on using it to bash or support obamacare or support or bash women's health rights, etc, in my opinion. Most people I see discussing this want focus on HL as a company or women's reproductive rights, or obamacare. It just encompasses so much more than that and opens up the loophole of companies to get around regulations simply by claiming religious beliefs.

This isn't about if corporations being forced to provide healthcare by the government. If it was then HL or any other corporation would be fighting the whole thing instead of birth control. It's about a corporation claiming it has a religious belief that can be used to get out of regulations that are on the books. The debate about company forced healthcare by the government is a whole different debate.

It is a poor business decision on the company party. Why should the employee have to buy it's own birth control? If the company would shell out a little up front it would prevent unwanted pregnancies, lost productivity and reduce cost for the employee as well as the company. It really makes no sense. Hobby lobby wants to cut off it's nose to spite its face. Again I understand not being for abortion. But refusing to pay for bc is just plain spiteful and when an unwanted pregnancy occurs everyone loses.
