you are assuming they gave up the fight, perhaps they are wise enough to know they cannot win and some fights are not worth fighting. pick your battles for your reasons.
second doctors don't make mistakes all the time, they are more right than wrong, and when it comes to a terminal illness they are right most of the time. saying doctors are wrong all the time is like saying all cops are bad, you are basing a very small percentile as the norm.

Also, I personally would like to think I would hold out and battle to the end, but that is for me. I cannot put my personal ethics on society, I have to be able to look beyond what I think is right for me and see what may be right for society, and yes they are and can be two different things.

much like I am against abortion when it comes to me, but, until I can answer what to do with millions of unwanted children who may be abused in some form or another, I have no right to say it is wrong for society. in America alone, the amount of abused, unwanted, and homeless children is staggering, is it logical to add to these numbers?

Yeah you're right, you got me on the literal written words I wrote. I don't expect you to understand this but if it had been spoken instead of written it would've sounded different, I meant it is frequent. I do admit my mistakes. :)

Just curious is there anything that you don't put a political spin on?

Are you saying this is an issue that DOESN'T have a political spin to it?

    Because it obviously does.

And once again it is Social Conservatism on the wrong side.

Just like it is on the wrong side on basically everything else.....I actually want to know ONE issue social conservatism actually has some logic and good reasoning on, I'd be shocked to find one.

Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious that having terminally ill patients suffer and go through torturous pain their remaining existence is bad.

Why not allow them to take control of the little time they have left and DIE WITH DIGNITY?

When someone has been given a death sentence the first thing that comes to mind is denial and sadness, but eventually they accept it and they want to have their last moments with their families and loved ones or doing what they enjoy most.

The majority of humans love life, even if we have to do things we don't like, even if we do suffer here and there....we all want to continue living.

HOWEVER, when certain humans are told that there is nothing else that medical science can do, they don't want to spend their last moments strapped in a bed with things all over their body as they suffer in pain just so they can prolong the inevitable a little bit longer.

    Just let them go.

This is the last thing they will do in this existence, let them go the way they want to, let them ultimately feel that it was THEIR decision and not the grim reaper's.

No I asked you a logical and simple question. It does not pertain to this topic per say but a question that you assumed because you are consumed. Get the riddle?

OK AJ....yes, there are plenty of things I don't politicize.

And actually, no, I don't politicize sports, how many times do I actually talk about sports around here?

    Almost never.

Now, you can give me your opinion about what I said.

Dying with dignity is OK with me if it is the individual's choice, but wait to you see what happens when the government cannot afford Obamacare starts making these decisions for your 75+ year old loved ones. Mark this prediction down (Ezekiel Emanuel has already let this cat out of the bag).

    Are you freaking serious?

Think about what you're saying for one second.

You're saying that the Government will selectively start to kill it's own citizens because they will run out of money or whatever in order to help them.

That is straight out of some sci-fi book or movie.

We live in the real world.
