i think barry sanders was terrible, he was over rated, slow and as agile as an elephant, jim brown ran like a girl, couldnt kick a pebble off the sidewalk, i wouldnt even want emmitt smith on my flag football team in his prime.

Ok here we go. First off barry was not the Greatest RB ever PERIOD. A good RB makes their team better. An oline looks good due to a rb following a protection scheme. Barry did not do this. Barry played football like he was on a playground. He varied from the schemes which made it harder to block for him. The lineman can't pull a block if they don't know where the play is going. Barry danced around too much in the backfield which also led to his having the most negative rush yards in nfl history. Detroit did have a decent Qb in Scott Mitchell and a wr in Herman moore. When a RB is good teams put 8 men in the box to stop the run. That in turn opens up the play action pass. Since barry ran all over the place the wrs could not run thier routes properly due to defenses being in the zone to cover both sides of the field just incase barry ran that way. In regular joe talk the back runs to the left that opens up a play to the right. Barry made his team worst. Now alot of folks say that others had a great line etc and wrs and qbs that are now hall of famers. Ever think about that? Aikman was not a good Qb he didn't win until Emmitt Arrived. Irving was not good either. Don't believe me check their records before Emmitt and after. Now was Emmitt the best No but he made his team better. A rb is an important piece of any Great team. Look at the Broncos Before Terrell Davis no ring after TD 2. All the great RBs made their team better Peyton, Campbell, Brown they all made their teams better. Barry did not. Now he was the flashiest Rb but the best no.

Barry Sanders is the BEST runing back of all time. The guy was just amazing. He had to single handedly make his holes by faking, juking, spinning, jumping over people, whatever it took. I can't give an honest opinion on Jim Brown (I'm too young) but I watched Emmitt Smith his entire career. He was handed the ball, waited for a hole one could drive a tractor trailer through open up, and walk 5 yards up the field. Barry did take a terrible Lions team to the NFC Championship game once.

No, why? Dallas' O-Line had holes the size of Texas opened up for Emmitt all the time. They were the MVP of those Dallas championship teams in the 90's.

So if records make a player then Emmitt is the king if you go that route. As for the Eddie george comment yes he probbaly does deserve to go to the hall of fame. Making comments like you never saw barry play doesn't make me take back my statements either. I saw Barry Play. He was a flashy think of himself player. A team is made up of all the players. barry only cared about doing his own thing. He didn't follow the protection schemes the coaches wanted he did what he wanted. Scott Mitchell had 12647yds and 79 tds while in detroit. Barry did not block he did not follow the protection scheme and he made the team around him look bad. Look at the numbers and the facts of the team around him instead of the dazziling moves and numbers of a me first player and you will see the proof there.
