Verlander is your only solid pitcher. Porcello had a good rookie season, but even then, a lot of pitchers fall back to earth once people actually get a read on him. Scherzer hasn't done anything in the majors yet.

Ordonez/Guillen are both well past their prime, and you know it.

Brandon Inge has never had a good year in his entire career, which would explain his career .230 batting average. He's had a couple 25/80 seasons, but even then, he never even hit .260.

Porcello is for real, didnt you watch him smoke the Indians?

Guillen isnt past his prime, one injury season and he's no good? Ordonez while losing power still swings a good bat, something Detroit will need...

Inge was hitting .280 or around that before getting injured....we'll see how he bounces back this year

Indians arent better than Detroit, period

I also wanted to say... Verlander, Porcello, and Scherzer 1-2-3 is flat out disgusting. That's a top-3 rotation in all of baseball over the next 5-7 years.

Carmona was for real also after his 19-8 rookie season.

Guillen is 34 and his numbers have decreased for three straight years now.

Inge's has hit over .260 once in his entire career...let's be real.

Never said they were, but the Tigers aren't good either.

I'm just curious what you're basing this off of? Verlander is the only proven pitcher in that rotation. Scherzer hasn't done anything in the majors yet, and rookie seasons by pitchers are hardly the baseline for whether or not he'll be a stud for years to come.

I can't believe how much we agree with each other today...Schlereth also has potential to start, and we cant forget the Tigers drafted Jacob Turner in 09 with the 7th pick who is a starting pitcher, imagine that rotation when he comes up....amazing!

Verlander is eligible in 2 years for arbitration though so he'll be the only one getting paid for awhile....

To Chuck, this is an honest question from one Yankee fan to another, not an attack whatsoever, but has Jackson done anything as a professional to make you think he's going to be a great player? From my own perspective, every positive thing about the guy is subjective. Some scouts believe he has all the tools to be a star, but he's had 4-5 years of professional experience, and he has objectively done nothing to make me excited about him as a prospect.

This last year he hit .300 with 4 HRs and 65RBIs in Triple A. Since he doesn't have any time at the Big League level it is all a guess as to how he will do. I just think he has a more positive upside than Granderson. It is hard for me to trade the organizations top prospect for a guy with a career .344 OBP (especially if you have hit #1). I would expect Granderson's numbers to go up this year hitting in Yankee stadium and having a lot more protection in the lineup.

I guess I just really wanted to see him come up and play in the OF for the Yanks. I really don't think he is that far behind Granderson at the moment and he is 6 years younger.

I understand wanting to keep the top prospects, but AJax career OBP in the minors causes me serious concern. He hit .300 this past year, but he started out hitting like .400 for the first month or so and came cashing back to reality. I'm not saying he's not going to improve, but I don't see him ever getting to where Granderson is against righties. If he puts up an .850 OPS and plays a good CF (which I think is reasonable), the trade is a steal as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinon Granderson helps them win now, which is the NY type of thing...

Also, the Schlereth DEEE Auto FT/FS
