Being sniped can be a pain but, yeah, make your initial bid the most what you're willing to pay. To be honest, i'd like to see ebay extend the time on auctions, or at least have the option, that receive a lot of bids in the final couple of minutes.

I'm a sniper, guilty as charged. I got tired of losing auctions to snipers, so I joined their ranks. I do it the old-fashioned way ... F5 F5 F5 BID! F5 F5 F5 BID!
LOL.
Cheers to all.

Sniping doesnt even exist - its so stupid to title that sniping. All the bidder is doing is bidding at last possible minute to avoid bidding wars. It can work out and it cannot. But what i dont get (and I have seen ppl do it a thousand times) is where theres 30 secs left and they swear they only want to pay $10 for a card, and they enter $10 and were outbid and move to $13, $15, and so forth until the time is up and they lost the card. Put in your HIGHEST BID in right away and come back the next day and see if you won the boloody auction. And stop calling shrewd bidders snipers; timing is everything

as stated earlier... if you dont want to pay more than 5 bucks on a card bid it and leave it alone.. if you get beat o well... i usually place a lot of bids on cards that have 3-4 days left because usually what i am looking for only comes around 2-3 times a week. I put the most i am willing to pay so be it... it doesnt matter if i get beat in the first 3 minutes after i place the bid or 3 seconds to go... it is still more than i wanted to pay so it doesnt matter to me
