Same in the USA. Nothing computer generated with a printer ever comes back, only things that have actual stamps come back.

I just can't wrap my head around why all of the questions all of a sudden, though. Before, I could send it off as over sized letter, easy as pie. Now, I'm paying more, and the mouth-breather at the post office is asking what value I am declaring. I of course, said $0. I'm not stupid enough to give a dollar amount and write "hockey cards" on a customs form. The conspiracy theorist in me is going crazy!

Alright guys explain my scenario then .. cause i am not understanding ... I went to Post Office ( same one i always use , rural area , so same 3 employees as always ) mailed my envelope containing 2 toploaders , charged me oversize lettermail as usual .. a week or maybe week and 1/2 later .. envelope is in my mail box with a sticker for incorrect postage and light packet written on it .... so i return to same post office with envelope they charge me the difference for light packet and make me attach the little green customs sticker .. so somebody beyond my Post Office decided to kick back the envelope

I think CP is really cracking down on the light packet thing, I have been getting charge more at light packet, than oversized letter.
I ask the clerk to charge me light packet (she tries to get me cheap rates all the time) instead of the other, it's 45cents more and no risk of it returning due to insufficient postage

Not sure what all the fuss is. I did my weekend mailing run and was still only charged $2.20 for the small bubble mailer going to the US. The clerk also applied the date stamp as usual.

Somebody may have said this already, but, Simply buy the stamps, stick them on your package and drop it in a mailbox. I have never had anything come back (knock on wood) and I send thousands a year with $2.20 worth of stamps.

yeah same deal, the packages don't even get close to the US before they get kicked back to you for insufficient postage. they come back from your nearest CP sort facility after it leaves your local PO.

word to the wise...a little chinese lady told me that if your local PO prints the postage sticker instead of putting stamps on it, it will NOT be returned to you. the little chinese lady works at my newly discovered post office and has been a huge help and by far the most competent canada post office worker i have delt with.

    False!

I had one package returned with insufficient postage - went back to PO complained and had to add more postage

although it only happened once and was a few years ago now

Also have had regular stamps with the date post mark on it returned as well -I dont goto that PO any more!

I just shipped two packages to the states from Canada and it was the regular 2.20 plus tax. They were both single cards in toploaders with two decoys and two bade cards each in 000 bubble mailers, if any of that makes a difference. I've always shipped out of CP in shoppers and never had a problem.

Well trading will go down with this price increase from both sides of the border.

It's been awhile since ive made a trade as it is now. This could possibly put a almost halt to it on here if the pricing is indeed consistent with the new high pricing and not a fluke
