Rumor has it the new part-owner is willing to kick in money to re-sign Reyes. Wouldn't be a terrible idea.

But I think the main thing is to make sure you can dump K-Rod before his option kicks in. And I'd want to get something for Beltran, because he can't get offered arbitration.

If they tenure Beltran Mets would probably get a first rounder when he gets signed though, if you can tenure him?

I believe they can't do anything because of his contract. They get nothing. He's got some special clauses in there.

That will be win #11 for Justin Verlander, and with Cleveland not playing, that gives the Tigers first place all alone for today

Just a couple of notes

-Phil Coke has been 'demoted' back to the bullpen and Charlie Furbush will take his spot
- Al Alburquerque has been placed on the 15day DL, Leyland expects him back the first game after the allstar break
-Carlos Guillen has been moved from Lakeland to Toledo for his rehab starts, should be back as the 2nd basemen as soon as the allstar break is over
-Ryan Raburn is still awful
